Viva España – Free Concert & Spanish Dance Class
Monday 30 July, 2012
For Immediate Release
FREE Spanish dance class with Nadya Constantinidis
and St John Ambulance Concert Band!
The Brisbane Botanic Gardens at Mt Coot-tha will provide an outdoor setting for some spectacularly sensuous Flamenco dancing on Sunday 12 August.
Nadya Constantinidis, a professional Flamenco dancer for the past 12 years with companies such as Jaleos Flamenco and the Flamenco Fire Dance Company, will join the St John Ambulance Concert Band to bring an hour of fun to audiences in Mt Coot-tha’s Botanic Gardens. Nadya has an impressive background and has performed at Woodford Folk Festival, QPAC, and Brisbane Powerhouse to name just a few venues. She's studied with international flamenco artists both in Australia and Spain and says, “Spanish dancing is very energetic and exciting! Anyone at the concert, who wants to learn a few basic moves, only has to get on their feet and join in the fun!”.
St John Ambulance Concert Band’s Music Director, Major Ivan Cocking, is looking forward to this exciting concert. He says that ‘I Dreamed a Dream’ is perfect for this concert titled, ‘Postcards from Europe’, as “the song is about the French Revolution and was recently made popular again by Susan Boyle”.
Hopefully, Brisbane will turn on another beautiful sunny winter’s day that will help to set a perfect background for this event! As always, St John Ambulance Concert Band invites everyone to this family friendly music event.
